Katie Smet joined CALSTART in 2022 as a Grants Specialist for the Clean Mobility Options Pilot Voucher Program. She supports key elements of voucher processing to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate shared clean transportation options in underserved communities throughout California.
Prior to joining CALSTART, Katie worked for Sacramento-based nonprofit, Breathe California Sacramento Regio, as a Program Manager and eventually as the Air Quality Programs Director. During her time, she led the design and implementation of food scrap recycling programs in schools and worked on community-led air protection initiatives in North and South Sacramento neighborhoods.
Katie holds a B.A from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where she double majored in Political Science and Urban Studies with a minor in Sustainability Studies.
