Kristel Turko

Kristel Turko, PHR, SHRM-SCP, is an accomplished Human Resources professional with extensive experience in the public sector. Currently serving as Human Resources Director at CalSTRS since September 2011, Kristel oversees the Selection and Classification and Pay function for the California State Teachers Retirement System. Prior to this role, Kristel held various positions within CalSTRS, including Assistant Director of Human Resources, Personnel Officer, and Personnel Services Manager. Kristel also worked as a Human Resources Manager at CalPERS from September 2010 to September 2011, where responsibilities included managing the Human Resource function within the Investment Office, focusing on executive searches, staff recruitment, training, and performance management.
