Carlos Ortega

Carlos Ortega is a seasoned professional in systems engineering with extensive experience in the rail and transit industry. Currently serving as Deputy Director of Systems Engineering at Caltrain, responsible for overseeing railroad systems practices and modernization projects. Prior to this role, Carlos worked as System Integration Manager at Hatch LTK for the BART Train Control Modernization Program, and held various positions at MARTA, including Director of Systems Engineering, where responsibilities included managing complex transportation systems integration and design. Early career experience also includes significant roles at Miami-Dade County, focusing on operating systems programming and systems analysis for transit services. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Technology from Florida International University.
