Joe Catanese

Joe Catanese has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Joe is currently the President & CEO of Calyxo, Inc. since March 2020. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, they served as the Vice President of Innovation and Operations at Teleflex Interventional Urology, where they played a significant role in developing and launching the UroLift System. Before Teleflex, Joe was the Founder and Vice President of Professional Education at NeoTract, Inc. from 2013 to 2017, and the Founder and Vice President of R&D from 2005 to 2013. Joe also worked as a Product Development Manager at Medtronic Vascular from 2003 to 2005, and previously as a Project Manager and R&D Engineer at TransVascular, Inc. from 1999 to 2003. Overall, Joe Catanese has extensive experience in the medical industry, with a focus on innovation, operations, and product development.

Joe Catanese attended Cornell University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After that, they went on to the University of California, Berkeley from 1993 to 1998, where they received a degree in Bioengineering. During the same period, they also studied at the University of California, San Francisco and obtained a PhD in Bioengineering.
