Lisa Murphy

Lisa Murphy is instrumental in Cambia’s work to transform health care for people and their families. As chief of staff, she serves as a strategic advisor to President and CEO Jared Short and the business. We call her our point guard for helping make health care simpler, better and more affordable. Lisa also serves as a liaison to industry associations and key stakeholders.

A native Oregonian, Lisa has been with Cambia for nearly 20 years and has about 30 years of legal and health care experience. Pairing industry knowledge and relationship building, Lisa gets things done through empathy, servant leadership and a deep commitment to the people we serve.

Most recently, Lisa served as the deputy general counsel and senior vice president for our Cambia Legal team. Before joining Cambia, she was a partner at Washington, D.C., law firm Miller & Chevalier, working on the health insurance program for federal employees. She was also associate counsel at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

Lisa earned her law degree from Cornell Law School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oregon.
