Dan Thorp

Dan Thorp currently serves as the Chief Executive and Director of Policy and Programmes at Cambridge Ahead since May 2019. In addition, Dan holds a position as a Committee Member at the East Anglia Regional Productivity Forum since May 2021 and serves as a Board Member for The Edge Cafe & Recovery Hub, a social enterprise focused on recovery from substance misuse. Prior to these roles, Dan was the Assistant Director at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority from April 2017 to May 2019 and held multiple managerial positions at Cambridgeshire County Council from August 2009 to April 2017, focusing on public service reform and sustainable transport initiatives. Dan began a career in policy at Improvement East from August 2007 to August 2009. Educationally, Dan holds a BA(Hons) in American Studies with Film Studies from the University of Hull, completed in 2006.
