Sean McLaughlin

Sean is a Managing Director and the Southeast Regional Head of Cambridge Associates’ Endowment & Foundation Practice. Sean joined Cambridge Associates in 2005 as a global investment strategist. He has more than 20 years of investment industry experience.

Sean has authored research on topics including equities, bonds and credit, commodities, alternative beta strategies, and ETFs. Since 2014, Sean has been a member of the firm’s Private Growth Research Committee, which oversees the evaluation of individual buyout, growth equity, and venture capital funds. From 2011 to 2014, he served on the Real Assets Research Committee.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Sean was Global Director of Public and Media Relations at Lipper Inc. (a fund-evaluation subsidiary of Thomson Reuters), communicating the firm’s mutual-fund research to journalists and asset management clients, launching Lipper Leader fund ratings, and supervising a team based in the US, Europe, and Asia. Before joining Lipper, Sean headed investor relations and communications for TheStreet.com, Inc., a financial news firm. Sean is a CFA Charterholder and received a BA from The Colorado College.
