Russell Maguire

Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Cambridge Consultants

Russell Maguire has had a diverse range of roles at Cambridge Consultants. Russell began their work experience at the company as a Summer Placement in the Digital Signal Processing Group in 2013. In 2014, they became a Technology Scholar in the same group, where they developed a pneumatic robot gripper as part of an intern project. In 2016, Russell completed a Summer Placement with the Digital Signal Processing Group, where they integrated audio preprocessing into the input pipeline of a music classifier. In 2017, they worked as a Machine Learning Intern in the Cambridge Consultants Digital Greenhouse AI research team, implementing and training a state-of-the-art Generative Adversarial Network for upscaling images. In 2018, they returned to Cambridge Consultants as a Machine Learning Intern, deploying deep learning networks on demo hardware and working on a reinforcement learning project. Since 2019, Russell has held various roles at Cambridge Consultants, including Machine Learning Engineer, Senior Machine Learning Engineer, and currently, Principal Machine Learning Engineer.

Russell Maguire completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electronic Engineering from Durham University between 2015 and 2019. Prior to that, they attended Neale Wade Academy for their high school education from 2007 to 2014.
