Stephen A. Ahern

Stephen A. Ahern serves as the Chief of Public Safety & Security at Cambridge Health Alliance since January 2020, after previously holding the position of Deputy Chief in the same department. Ahern is the former President of Render Safe Consultants, LLC from February 2016 to January 2021 and retired as Deputy Superintendent from the Cambridge Police Department, where service extended from 1989 to 2020. Additionally, Ahern has experience as an Adjunct Instructor at Roger Williams University from 2013 until December 2019. Ahern's educational background includes advanced degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Law Enforcement from Western New England University, as well as attendance at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Harvard Kennedy School, and the FBI National Academy, Session #239. Military training includes service in the United States Marine Corps specializing in helicopter mechanics from 1983 to 1987. Ahern has also participated in the ADL National Counter-Terrorism Seminar in Tel Aviv, Israel.
