Gemma Smith (nee Burns)

Gemma Smith (nee Burns) has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Gemma is currently working as a Senior Events Director at Cambridge Innovation Institute since January 2018, where they are involved in producing conferences. Prior to that, they took a career break from June 2017 to December 2017 to travel across Europe. From April 2016 to May 2017, they worked as a Conference Director at Worldwide Business Research. Before that, Gemma spent a significant part of their career at Informa starting from June 2006. During their time at Informa, they held various roles including Conference Director and Portfolio Director, responsible for organizing and managing numerous events in industries such as Agrochemical, Chemical, Animal Health, Drug Discovery, Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Devices. Gemma also has experience in editorial production, where they worked as an Editorial Production manager at BioMed Central from November 2004 to June 2006.

From 1993 to 2000, Gemma Smith (nee Burns) attended Dame Alice Owens, where they completed their secondary education. Following that, from 2000 to 2003, they enrolled at The University of Sheffield and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
