Paola Cavallin

Paola Cavallin has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on IT and intellectual property law. Paola began their career as an Assistant Solicitor at International Law Firm C. Galdo in 1998. Paola then worked as a Researcher at the University of Siena from 1997 to 1998 and as an Assistant to the Director at the Sustainability Challenge Foundation during the same period.

In 2000, Paola joined Clifford Chance LLP as a Solicitor, where they provided legal counsel on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial contracts. Paola also advised foreign investors and banks on corporate acquisitions and financing transactions.

In 2005, Paola moved to Xchanging Plc as the Senior Legal Counsel, responsible for all legal matters relating to the Xuber sector, which provides insurance software solutions. Paola held this position until 2015, during which they also served as the Head of Legal for the Xuber sector.

In 2015, Paola took on the role of Group General Counsel at Plextek Group, where they provided legal advice and support to the entire organization. Paola held this position for six years, until 2021.

Currently, Paola serves as the Legal Director and General Counsel at Cambridge Intelligence Ltd. Paola is a member of the Board of Directors and manages the legal affairs and team of the company. Paola'sresponsibilities include providing legal advice and support on IT/IP, data protection, and software licensing, as well as managing legal risks and developing internal policies and governance procedures.

Paola Cavallin's education history is as follows:

From 1991 to 1996, Paola studied at the Universita' degli Studi di Siena and earned a Jurisprudence Degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude with First Class Honours in Law.

In 1993-1994, Paola attended the University of Amsterdam and obtained a Certificate of International Comparative Law, concentrating on International and European Law.

In 1996-1997, Paola pursued further education at UCL (University College London) and completed an LLM (merit) in Commercial and Corporate Law.

Additionally, in January 2000, Paola was admitted to the Italian Law Society by the institution Ordine degli avvocati.

Paola expanded their expertise by becoming a Solicitor of England and Wales in May 2004 through The Law Society.
