Will Houchin has a diverse work experience in the field of music education. Will started their career as an Elementary Music Teacher in the Flowing Wells Unified School District in 2012 and worked there until 2017. From 2017 to 2020, they held multiple roles, including Autism Music Intervention Specialist/Music Teacher in Somerville Public Schools and Instructor at the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs, where they also provided professional development for arts educators. In 2017, they also became the Head of Production at Pedal Note Media, where they produced and published podcasts and developed online workshops and educational offerings. In 2020, they worked as a Music and Band Teacher in Boston Public Schools before transitioning to their current role as the Assistant Director at Cambridge Common Voices at Harvard University. In 2023, they will become the Lead Teacher with a focus on music and performance in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Cambridge Public Schools.
Will Houchin completed their Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Music Performance (Tuba) at the University of Arizona from 2009 to 2012. Will then pursued a Master's degree in Music Education with a concentration in Autism at Boston Conservatory at Berklee from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, they obtained a Massachusetts Teaching License from the Massachusetts Department of Education in 2018 and an Orff-Schulwerk Level III certification from the American Orff-Schulwerk Association in 2016. Will also holds a Secondary Music Education (K-12 Endorsement) certification from the Arizona Department of Education.
