Steven Lifton has over 30 years of experience in the real estate and finance industries. In 1984, they became a Member of Sterling Company, where they developed infrastructure for the management of rental and cooperative apartment complexes in NYC and Long Island, converted rental buildings to cooperative ownership, spearheaded complete building and apartment renovations, and built financing and cooperative sales efforts. Steven was also an active lender of capital to real estate and non-real estate businesses utilizing the company's capital, credit facilities and SBIC programs.
In 1990, Lifton became the Founding Shareholder of the Bank of Great Neck, a New York Commercial Bank, where they served as Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Credit Committee. That same year, they became the Managing Director of National Property Investors, where they managed a real estate fund with $2 billion in assets.
In 2007, Lifton became the Senior Advisor of Halpern Enterprises, where they repositioned a portfolio of 30 retail infill downtown properties in South Florida. In 2009, they became the Senior Advisor of GATX Marine Terminal & Logistic Center, where they collaborated with principals of private equity firm Huntsman Gay Global Capital to arrange for the purchase and clean-up of a 675 acre site in the New York metro area.
In 2012, Lifton became the Co-Founding Partner & President of MT. Helix Real Estate Investment Fund/MT. Helix Property Management, where they managed a fully integrated, internally managed real estate investment company at infill locations with a focus on top 20 metropolitan cities.
In 2019, Lifton became the Managing Director of Cambridge Wilkinson, where they provided a full suite of Investment Banking services. Steven also became the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Niles Investment Group, where they bought, sold, and aggregated off market REO and Non-Performing Loan pool and acted as a fulfillment vehicle for real estate owners and operators on a geographic basis. Additionally, they became the President of Lifton Financial Group, where they contracted and purchased over $300MM of NN and NNN income producing retail and office product for acquisition, syndication or disposition.
