Ryan's early career includes their time at Whiting Petroleum, where they worked as a Production Engineer from June 2011 to August 2014. Ryan had rotational roles between field and office, focusing on managing a chemical program to prevent well plugging in a CO2 flood project. Ryan was the sole field engineer responsible for a significant number of wells.
Ryan's professional journey began with their role as a Research Assistant at the Colorado School of Mines from January 2010 to May 2011. Ryan supported graduate students in conducting experiments and data analysis related to petroleum research.
During their studies, Ryan gained practical experience as an Engineering Intern at Enerplus. Ryan worked on the Bakken Oil Shale, performing parametric analysis on completion methods and conducting rate transient analysis to determine the drainage area of horizontal wells.

Ryan Vera attended the Colorado School of Mines from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering.
