Duncan Orrell-Jones has diverse experience in various leadership roles. Duncan is the co-founder and CEO of Camino Robotics since November 2019. Prior to that, they worked as an EIR (Entrepreneur in Residence) at Idealab from June 2019 to November 2019. From 2018 to 2019, Duncan was self-employed, providing advisory, consulting, and mentoring services to early- and mid-stage startups in the B2B and B2C sectors.
Before starting their own ventures, Duncan served as the CEO, President, and Board Director of Slacker Radio, Inc., a major streaming audio startup from 2014 to 2018. At Slacker, they played a key role in securing additional venture financing and new bank credit facilities. Duncan introduced innovative features like AI-based track sequencing and personalized radio listening. Duncan also optimized audio advertising loads and enhanced user engagement.
Duncan's previous experiences include working at Nintendo as the Senior Vice President of Network Business from 2012 to 2014, and at The Walt Disney Company in various senior vice president roles, such as DIMG Games, International, and Disney Mobile. Duncan also held a senior leadership position at Walt Disney Internet Group as the SVP and General Manager of Disney Interactive Media Group (Asia Pacific) from 2005 to 2010.
In their early career, Duncan worked at The Walt Disney Studios, where they served as the Senior Vice President of Finance & Planning for Feature Animation, TV Animation, and Theatrical Productions. Duncan held various positions in finance and planning at the studio from 1995 to 2005. Duncan began their career as a Senior Analyst in Business Planning at Touchstone Television from 1993 to 1995.
Duncan Orrell-Jones completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in General Physics from UCLA in 1988. Later, they pursued their Master of Business Administration from Emory University - Goizueta Business School, which they completed in 1993.
