Orlee Krass

Tikvah Director at Camp Ramah In the Poconos

Orlee Krass has a diverse work experience in the education and camp industries. Orlee started their career as a Special Education Teacher at the NYC Department of Education from 2003 to 2010. In 2004, they also worked as an Instructor at Platform Learning, providing after-school and weekend instruction to students.

In 2009, Orlee became a Learning Specialist at Temple Emanu-El until 2014. During this time, they also served as the Director of The PJ Library® at The Jewish Federation of Rockland County from 2011 to 2014.

From 2010 to 2015, Orlee worked at Matan as the Director of Education. In this role, they managed educational staff, designed curricula, and facilitated The Matan Institute, a training program for Jewish professionals.

In 2013, Orlee took on the role of Director of Camper Care at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack until 2015. Simultaneously, they worked as the Tikvah Network Coordinator at the National Ramah Commission from 2013 to 2016. In this position, they focused on inclusion training and creating inclusive programming for Ramah camps.

Most recently, Orlee has been serving as the Tikvah Director at Camp Ramah in the Poconos since October 2015.

Orlee Krass obtained a B.A. degree in Judaic Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2002. From 1998 to 1999, they participated in a study abroad program at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on Jewish History. In 2005, they completed their MS degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education from Mercy College. Orlee Krass also holds additional certifications, including a New York State Special Education Permanent Teacher Certification and a State of New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped Standard Certificate, though the institutions and years of obtaining these certifications are not available.
