Alexander Metcalfe

Alexander Metcalfe is a seasoned professional in sustainability and communication with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Director of the British Guild of Beer Writers since August 2023, Alexander focuses on training and events. As the Campaigns and Communications Manager for the Campaign for Real Ale since July 2018, responsibilities include developing and managing the Learning & Discovery programme. Previous roles reflect expertise in greenspace management, sustainability projects, and climate change initiatives, including positions with Medway Council, Canterbury Christ Church University, and Warwick District Council. Alexander holds an MSc in Sustainability and Adaptation and a BA in Social Anthropology, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in relevant fields.
