Brian Hickey

Senior Director, Federal Government Relations at Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids

Brian Hickey is currently the Senior Director of Federal Government Relations at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Brian has over 25 years of experience in writing legislation and policy at the state and federal level. Brian has also worked extensively in communications, both in the private sector and in the U.S. Senate.

Hickey began their career as a Staff Writer for American Health Line in 1992. In 1993 they became the Communications Manager for the Healthcare Leadership Council. Brian held this position for four years before moving to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, where they worked as a Legislative Policy Writer from 1997 to 1999.

In 2001, Hickey became a Health Policy Fellow for U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy's Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. Brian held this position for two years before becoming a Health Policy Advisor for the U.S. Senate Democratic Policy Committee in 2007. Brian held this position for two years before moving to their current position at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids in 2009.

Brian Hickey received their MPP from Duke University and their undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross.
