John Gilleland began their career at Deloitte & Touche as an Audit Senior in 1979. In 1982, they joined Campbell Global, where they initially held the role of Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman, Assistant to the President. During their time at Campbell Global, Gilleland performed various executive functions, including acquisitions, marketing, proposal development, client development, tax structure, and strategic planning. In 2002, they became the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the company, leading its sustainable timberland and natural resource investment management endeavors.
John Gilleland attended Oregon State University from 1974 to 1978. During this time, they pursued a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance, as well as Computer Science. After completing their degree, John obtained the CPA certification from the American Institute of CPAs in March 1980. Additionally, they obtained the CPA certification from the Oregon Society of CPAs in the same month and year.
