Jim Rokusek, Ed.D. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Starting in 1989, they served as a Combat Engineer in the South Dakota Army National Guard until 1995. In 1996, they transitioned to the education sector and worked as a Recruiter/Admissions Counselor, Evening Admissions Counselor, and Adjunct Faculty at Southeast Tech. In these roles, they focused on increasing enrollment, assisting students through the registration process, and teaching general education courses.
Jim then became the Registrar at Southeast Tech, where they administered all programs and processes related to academic credits. Jim evaluated transfer credits, monitored curriculum changes, and ensured compliance with school policies. From 2005 to 2017, Jim served as the Director of Student Services at Southeast Tech. Jim managed a 13-member enrollment team and oversaw the operation and administration of admissions, financial aid, marketing, and career education offices. Jim also provided recommendations on academic direction and student needs as part of strategic planning.
In 2017, Jim joined CampusWorks, Inc. as a Senior Optimization Specialist (Consultant). In this role, they provided strategic consulting expertise across all areas of the student life cycle. Jim identified gaps between an institution's people, processes, technologies, and strategic goals and offered insights to bridge those gaps. Jim also supported clients in student affairs, student experience, and administrative operations. Currently, they hold the position of Engagement Manager at the same company.
Additionally, Jim worked as an Implementation Consultant at Campus Management Corp. from 2018 to 2019, focusing on implementing solutions for educational institutions.

Jim Rokusek, Ed.D. completed their education history with a Doctor of Education - EdD degree in Education Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Rural Sociology from South Dakota State University from 1994 to 1996. Jim began their educational journey at the same university, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Rural Sociology from 1990 to 1994.
