Benoît Lachapelle has a diverse work experience in the field of geomatics engineering. Benoît started their career as a Land Surveyor at Topocom Asselin&Asselin in 2014. In 2015, they worked as a Summer Intern at CIDCO.ca. Benoît then gained further experience as a Summer Intern at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in 2016. Benoît also gained expertise in Trimble Geospatial and Faro technologies. In their last role at Cansel, they served as the Scanning Technology Lead for Quebec from 2020 to 2023. Currently, they are working as a Geomatics Engineer at Can-Explore since 2023.

Benoît Lachapelle completed their education at various institutions. From 2013 to 2017, they attended Université Laval and obtained an Engineer's Degree in the field of Geomatics Engineering. In 2012, they participated in summer schools at Université du Québec à Rimouski, focusing on Geography. In the same year and until 2013, they pursued General Studies at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Additionally, in December 2020, they obtained the "Permis d'ingénieur" certification from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
