Dalton Baretto

Dalton Baretto, CFA has a comprehensive work experience in the finance industry. Dalton currently holds the position of Managing Director in Equity Research, specifically focusing on the Metals & Mining sector at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. Dalton started in this company as a VP in Equity Research in 2016 and has since progressed to Director and then Managing Director.

Prior to joining Canaccord Genuity, Dalton worked as a Senior Associate in Equity Research at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets from 2013 to 2016. Dalton played a significant role in launching and supporting the coverage of senior base metals companies in North and South America. During their tenure, the research team became the top-ranked base metals research team in Canada.

Before joining Scotiabank, Dalton was a Co-Founder and Lead Analyst at Phoenix Business Transformations, a business advisory firm based in Dubai, UAE. Dalton provided executive-level advice to organizations in the GCC region, with expertise in growth, execution, asset utilization, and capital allocation. Dalton held this position from 2012 to 2013.

In 2010, Dalton worked as an Equity Research Associate in Mining/Industrials at Credit Suisse. Dalton covered various junior and intermediate Canadian mining companies, specializing in base metals, precious metals, and PGMs. Dalton led the analysis of four companies and supported 12 others, covering the entire spectrum of exploration to multi-mine production.

Before joining Credit Suisse, Dalton worked as an Associate in Corporate Credit, specifically focusing on Real Estate and Airlines at CIBC World Markets from 2009 to 2010. Dalton'sresponsibilities included credit analysis and the development of the corporate loan book for major Canadian REITs and airlines.

From 2005 to 2008, Dalton worked as a Senior Manager in Management Consulting at Carpedia International Ltd. This role provided him with extensive experience in strategic and operational consulting across various industries.

Dalton's career began at Imperial Oil Ltd. in 2003, where they worked as a Business Analyst. Dalton contributed to various projects during their tenure, gaining valuable insights into the energy sector.

Dalton started their educational journey by attending the University of Waterloo from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc.) degree in Engineering. Seeking further knowledge in the business field, they then enrolled at the Ivey Business School at Western University in 2008, completed their studies in 2009, and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Management. Additionally, in 2007, Dalton Baretto attended the CFA Institute, where they completed their studies in 2010 and received the distinction of being a Chartered Financial Analyst.
