Deron Fung

Deron Fung has extensive work experience in the legal and financial industries. Deron currently holds the position of Corporate Counsel at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as Counsel at TD from May 2021 to April 2022. Deron also served as an Associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP from September 2019 to May 2021. Deron started their legal career as a Summer Student and Articling Student at the same firm from May 2017 to June 2019. Before pursuing law, Deron worked as a Compliance Officer at the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada from October 2014 to August 2015. Deron also has prior experience in accounting, having worked as a Senior Accountant at Deloitte Canada from January 2011 to October 2014, and as an Accountant at the Ontario Securities Commission from February 2014 to September 2014.

Deron Fung completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School in the years 2015 to 2018. Deron also participated in an exchange program at The University of Hong Kong in 2017, where they pursued an LLB/LLM degree, although the field of study is not specified. Prior to that, Deron attended the University of Toronto from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a B.B.A. degree with a specialization in Management and Accounting (Co-op).

In terms of certifications, Deron obtained the Barrister and Solicitor certification from the Law Society of Ontario in June 2019. Deron also became a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in Illinois, certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in November 2015. Additionally, they acquired the CPA, CA (Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) in May 2015.
