Masc Omar El Masri

Omar El Masri has a diverse work experience starting as a Structural Engineer Intern at Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners) in 2015. Omar then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia's REACT Lab from 2016 to 2018, conducting statistical data analysis. Following that, Omar joined Creative Transportation Solutions Ltd in 2018 as a Junior Traffic Engineer and Member of the IT Committee, where they undertook traffic impact assessments and developed data-driven applications. In 2021, they joined Bunt & Associates Engineering Ltd as a Traffic Analyst, leading a team and managing transportation engineering projects. Currently, Omar works at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc as a Cyber Security Analyst, focusing on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities within complex on-prem/cloud environments. Omar provides technical advice on secure cloud infrastructure and performs code reviews.

Omar El Masri, MASc, obtained a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from The University of British Columbia, where they attended from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science at the American University of Beirut, from 2012 to 2016. Omar received their high school education in Life Sciences at Beirut International School, where they studied from 1998 to 2012.
