Alejandro Jotayan has extensive work experience in the energy and oil & gas industry. Alejandro currently holds the position of VP New Ventures at Canacol Energy Ltd since 2017. Prior to this, they worked as the CEO of Phoenix Global Resources plc, an oil & gas company with assets in Argentina, Colombia, and Paraguay, from April 2013 to April 2017. Alejandro also served as the General Manager in Argentina for Phoenix Global Resources plc from October 2012 to April 2013. Before joining Phoenix Global Resources, Alejandro Jotayan worked as the Director of Business Development at YPF S.A. from July 2010 to November 2012. Alejandro also held various managerial roles at Repsol, including Manager of Business Development E&P from January 2008 to June 2010, and Manager of Projects Exploration & Production from December 2006 to December 2007. Prior to their time at Repsol, they were the Manager of Planning in the Energy and Steel Sector at Grupo Techint from 2003 to 2006, and the Commercial Manager at Ternium in Grupo Techint from January 1995 to November 2000.
Alejandro Jotayan has a diverse education history. Alejandro attended the Mercedes-Benz Technician School from 1986 to 1991, where they pursued a degree in Industrial Technology/Technician. Following this, Alejandro attended the University of Buenos Aires from 1992 to 1997, earning a degree in Industrial Engineering. In 2000, they enrolled in the IAE Business School, where they completed an Executive MBA in Business. Returning to their studies in 2021, Alejandro participated in a Leadership program at the INALDE Business School, focusing on Administration and General Business Management.
