Carlos Eslava

Carlos Eslava has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Carlos currently serves as the Director of IT at Canacol Energy Ltd, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, Carlos worked at Gran Tierra Energy from 2008 to 2020, where they served as the Information Services Manager, overseeing IT operations and resourcing for the Colombia and Peru business units. At Pacific Rubiales Energy from 2006 to 2008, Carlos held the role of IT Chief, responsible for administering the overall policies and goals for the information technology department. Carlos also worked at Sipetrol from 2000 to 2006 as the IT Team Leader, where they oversaw network and computer-based information systems. Carlos started their career at Phoenix Ltd. in 1997 as an Operations Engineer, specializing in networks installation and configuration.

Carlos Eslava completed their education with a focus on strategic leadership and organizational leadership. Carlos obtained a degree in Management Information Systems from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 1998. Additionally, they pursued further education in various fields, including business administration, marketing, research and development management, project management, and recently obtained a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) certification from CertiProf in 2022.
