Michael Peterson

Michael Peterson is a professional experienced in the arts sector, currently serving as a Program Officer with Explore and Create at the Canada Council for the Arts since June 2021. In this role, responsibilities include providing guidance to numerous artists, supporting project execution, and coordinating peer assessment committees. As a co-owner and co-founder of Shop Cold Pizza, Michael manages operations and collaborates with artists to develop their designs. Previous positions include Project Manager for the Shared Spaces app at the University of Saskatchewan, Executive Director of Void Gallery, and Project Manager for the Saskatchewan Craft Council, among others, demonstrating a strong record in arts management, community engagement, and grant writing. Michael holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University and dual undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts and Mathematics from the University of Saskatchewan.
