Sam Mawhinney

Sam Mawhinney is a Trainee Actuary at Canada Life Reinsurance since August 2020, following an actuarial trainee position at Capita Life & Pensions from August 2018 to August 2019, where engagement in Unit-Linked and With-Profit Tax calculations was undertaken. Prior to this, Sam worked as a part-time Sailing Instructor for the Royal Yachting Association from June 2013 to August 2019, teaching sailing to diverse groups. Additional experience includes a brief actuarial internship at Direct Line Group in June 2017 and part-time front-of-house work at Makhulu 5 from September 2016 to January 2017. Sam Mawhinney holds a BSc in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from Queen's University Belfast, completed in 2020, and attended Friends' School Lisburn from 2009 to 2016.
