Ian Johns has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ian started as an Experienced Senior Consultant at Accenture from 1991 to 1996. Following that, they worked as a Senior Developer at PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. for a brief period in 1998. In 2000, Ian joined WetFeet, Inc. as a Senior Developer and later became a Team Lead until 2005. Ian then worked at Spotwave, Inc. as a Software Developer from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, they joined Open Text as a Research & Development Developer before moving on to ReadyBMS in 2008 as a Senior CRM Specialist. Since 2009, Ian has been working at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health as a Senior Application and Microsoft Power Platform Developer. Their responsibilities include customizing, implementing, and developing applications on Microsoft's Power Platform, SharePoint, and SQL Server. Ian has also built a Provincial Funding Summary tool for the Provincial Advisory Group to enter funding status and criteria for oncology drugs.

Ian Johns completed their high school education at Hillcrest High School from 1977 to 1982. Following that, they attended Trent University from 1984 to 1988, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with a joint major in Computer Studies and Geography. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Microsoft PowerApps Essential Training: The Basics and Project Online Reporting with Power BI from LinkedIn in April 2020.
