Kate Moffett

Clinic Director & Physiotherapist - Artistry Of Motion at Canada's National Ballet School

Kate Moffett has a diverse work experience in the field of physiotherapy. Their most recent role is as the Clinic Director & Physiotherapist at Canada's National Ballet School, where they oversee the day-to-day operations and provides exceptional physiotherapy care to dancers and the community. Prior to this, they ran their own physiotherapy practice, specializing in serving performing artists, dancers, musicians, and athletes. Kate has also worked at Athlete's Care Sports Medicine Centres, providing patient-centered care and utilizing functional exercise prescription, acupuncture techniques, and patient education. Additionally, they have contributed to academia by teaching a lab at the University of Toronto and presenting to students at York University. Kate has a strong background in dance, as they have worked as a dance instructor and has presented on topics related to recognizing, preventing, and managing common dance injuries. Kate has also gained experience in hospital settings, including placements at Hotel Dieu Hospital and Providence Care Hospital, where they focused on physical therapy for complex and palliative care patients. Throughout their career, they have obtained and practiced various skills, including manual therapy, assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, exercise prescription, documentation and charting, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Kate Moffett obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Dance from York University from 2008 to 2012. Kate then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University from 2012 to 2015. Their education continued with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) at Queen's University from 2016 to 2018. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a C-I Training Teacher Certification (Beg-Int) in 2012, Manual Therapy, Level 1 in 2018, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture in 2019, FITforeGOLF Certification in 2019, and Advanced Neurofunctional Sports Practitioner from McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture in 2022.
