Karen Mostert

Karen Mostert has extensive experience in the healthcare field, particularly within Canadian Blood Services since March 2004, where roles have included Manager of Donor Services for the Stem Cell Registry and Manager of Recruitment/Collections for stem cells, medical affairs, and innovation. In these positions, responsibilities have involved overseeing the national public program for umbilical cord blood collection and managing efforts to recruit healthy volunteer mothers for donations. Prior to this, Karen served as Assistant Manager of Specialty Services overseeing apheresis collections at The Ottawa Hospital, and worked as a Case Manager for the Unrelated Bone Marrow Donor Registry in March 2024. Additionally, Karen held the role of Research Coordinator in Nuclear Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute from February 2002 to March 2004 and has a foundational background as a Staff Nurse across various surgical and medical specialties at The Ottawa Hospital from September 1987 to February 2002.
