Laurie Benner

Laurie Benner is a seasoned fundraising leader with extensive experience at the Canadian Cancer Society since February 2008, currently serving as Senior Director of Signature Programs. Laurie oversees a portfolio of initiatives that raises over $15 million annually and has successfully developed and launched the Relay For Life Youth Program, the organization's fastest growing fundraising event. With a strong focus on collaboration, Laurie has partnered with over 30 international cancer charities and secured more than $5 million in corporate sponsorships. Laurie's innovative approach includes executing virtual fundraising events that adapted to pandemic challenges, as well as enhancing youth leadership and philanthropy through various youth programs. Prior to joining the Canadian Cancer Society, Laurie led special events and sales initiatives at Heritage Line Herbs. Laurie holds an Hon. Bachelor of Arts in Childhood and Family Relations from Western University.
