Jason Baggs, MMarE, P. Eng, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marine engineering and project management. Currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer and Class Project Manager at the Canadian Coast Guard since August 1999, Jason oversees the management and vessel life extensions of six Type 1100 Canadian Coast Guard vessels. Previously, Jason held roles such as VLE Project Officer for the CCGS Cygnus and Chief Engineer, where responsibilities included supervising marine engineering departments and ensuring operational readiness. Jason's background also includes firefighting with Halifax Regional Municipality and instructing physics lab exercises at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, a B. Tech in Marine Engineering from Cape Breton University, and a B. Sc. in Physics and Math from Memorial University.
