R. Lynn Stevenson

Dr. R. Lynn Stevenson is a senior health care executive with extensive leadership experience in health care operations, quality and safety, human resources and research. Lynn is an RN by profession and has a PhD with a research focus on organizational change, practice and leadership.

Lynn is a former Associate Deputy Minister in the British Columbia Ministry of Health. In this role she provided leadership to the Health Services Portfolio. Lynn also held senior executive positions in Fraser Health and British Columbia Cancer Agency. She is particularly proud of her work in Indigenous health senior’s health.

As the Board Chair of the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI), she provided leadership that resulted in the amalgamation with the former Canadian Patient Safety Institute resulting in a new Pan Canadian Organization – Healthcare Excellence Canada. Additional board experience includes past co-chair of the British Columbia Academic Health Council, a member of the Royal Roads University School of Leadership Studies Advisory Council and the University of Victoria Human and Social Development Advisory Committee and currently is a public member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.

Lynn is a long term member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and is active in the Vancouver Island Chapter and has participated as a mentor since the inception of the island program. She is a Fellow of the CCHL, a CFHI EXTRA Fellow and Certified corporate director (ICD-D). Lynn is recognized for her leadership abilities and has received awards from the Canadian College of Health Leaders, the University of Victoria and the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.
