Daniel Bacinello has a diverse work experience in research and management roles. Daniel started their career as a PHD Researcher at the University of Waterloo in 2010, where they conducted joint research with the University of Bordeaux. After completing their PHD in 2014, they worked as a Research Officer at York University for two years. In 2016, they joined Ontario Genomics as a Manager of Research and Business Development. Most recently, in 2018, they became the Director of Research at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, where they are responsible for leading and managing the institute's research portfolio. Daniel has also demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship management skills throughout their career.
Daniel Bacinello's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Honours Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, which they completed from 2003 to 2008. Daniel then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Nanomaterials and Mathematical Modelling from Grenoble INP - UGA, completing it from 2008 to 2010. Daniel went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering - Nanotechnology from the University of Waterloo, completing it from 2010 to 2014. Finally, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Strategic Foresight & Business Design from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, which they completed from 2016 to 2019.
