Pan-canadian Artificial Intelligence Compute Environment (paice) Lead at CIFAR

Tibor Turi, PhD P.Eng., serves as the Pan-Canadian Artificial Intelligence Compute Environment (PAICE) Lead at CIFAR, focusing on implementing partnerships with national stakeholders to advance AI research and responsible adoption in Canada. Previously, Turi held the position of Executive Director at the SOSCIP Consortium, driving R&D collaboration between industry and academia to enhance AI and data science applications. Turi's leadership in the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers included roles as Past President and various board positions, where strategic initiatives for the engineering profession were developed. Turi's extensive experience also encompasses roles in innovation consulting, product development in the steel industry, and managing the Ontario Regional Office for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, fostering industry-academic partnerships. Turi holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering from Queen's University, and has completed an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management.
