Jeff Hatcher

As director of the Advanced Analytics branch, Jeff Hatcher provides CIHI with technical expertise and fosters alignment, collaboration and advancement across the organization for advanced analytics tools, methods and techniques. He also identifies and cultivates opportunities for new advanced analytics–based products and services.

During his time at CIHI, Mr. Hatcher has provided leadership and technical expertise in the development of several generations of CIHI’s Case Mix Group+, Comprehensive Ambulatory Classification System and population grouping methodologies. Mr. Hatcher also is involved on a volunteer basis in the Patient Classification Systems International organization and is the director of its international school on design and implementation of case-mix funding.

Prior to joining CIHI as a senior methodologist in 2002, he spent time at Statistics Canada, Bell Canada, Nortel and the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

Mr. Hatcher holds a BSc in statistics and an MA in economics, and brings 30 years of experience leading analysis and statistical modelling activities and strategies both within and outside the health care sector.
