As the chief information security officer, Mr. Marcoux is responsible and accountable for leading CIHI’s Information Security program, including oversight of CIHI’s Information Security Management System. Mr. Marcoux has more than 25 years’ experience in information technology (IT), with previous management roles in application development, corporate systems, web strategy and architecture. He joined CIHI in 1997.
His experience has fostered a strong belief that privacy and data protection are possible only with a strong governance model that considers the needs and interests of all stakeholders, including clients, business, the chief privacy officer and IT. Building information security awareness, implementing technology solutions in a privacy- and security-sensitive manner, managing risk intelligently and defining shared and individual accountability through the definition of sound information management practices are the keys to success.
Mr. Marcoux holds a Bachelor of Mathematics.
