Alison Chayka

Alison Chayka is an experienced professional with a robust background in health research management, currently serving as Competition Lead at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research since May 2005. In this role, Alison leads the planning, implementation, and monitoring of competition delivery and peer review activities for strategic research initiatives. Additional appointments at CIHR include Deputy Director (Acting), Senior Advisor for Membership Management, and Recruitment Lead for the College of Reviewers, focusing on member engagement and recruitment strategies to enhance peer review quality. Prior to joining CIHR, Alison held various positions at WestJet and the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, culminating in a role as Office Administrator. Alison's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western University.
