Ilana Gombos

Ilana Gombos has extensive experience in the Canadian health research sector, currently serving as the Team Lead for Program Design and Delivery at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research since August 2003. In this role, Ilana leads a team focused on creating and implementing national and international funding opportunities for the health research community. Previously, Ilana held positions as Team Lead for the Foundation Grant Program and as Assistant Director for the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health and the Institute of Gender and Health. Ilana began the career as a Project Officer in the Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, a Master's degree in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor's degree in Genetics (Honours) from York University.
