Stephanie Ritter

Manager, Government Relations & Policy at Canadian Media Producers Association

Stephanie is responsible for assisting the heads of the Ottawa Departments with policy development, research, advocacy, and corporate functions. This includes liaising and coordinating relevant work for the Finance, Communications, and Membership departments.

In the Coordinator role, Stephanie promotes enhanced communication between CMPA departments. Stephanie also supports special projects. Such initiatives include preserving CMPA corporate memory, researching topics and issues, and assisting with drafting reports.

Stephanie was introduced to the Canadian screen industry as a summer research assistant at BlueMoon Productions Inc. Here, Stephanie analyzed the Wrigley family archives in preparation for a documentary series. After that action-packed experience, Stephanie held multiple Research and Teaching Assistant positions in media and communication at both Western University and Carleton University. Stephanie also has professional experience in social media marketing.

Stephanie completed her Honors Specialization BA (with distinction) in Media, Information, and Technoculture and her MA in Media Studies at Western University. Stephanie’s CIHR-funded MA research focused on visual culture, social media, and health communication. Stephanie is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Communication at Carleton University and intends to study the budding field of digital diplomacy with a focus on Canadian film.
