Jimmy Mui

Jimmy Mui is currently the CFO, COO & EVP of Corporate Services at the Canadian Medical Association. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Canadian Red Cross from January 2013 to December 2015.

At the Canadian Red Cross, Jimmy was responsible for managing an annual operating budget of $300M and led the finance, facilities and procurement functions. Jimmy developed new policies with respect to net assets and trust fund management with a view towards improving efficiency and long-term financial sustainability. Additionally, they created new investment models for program growth, capital investments and proposed numerous cost saving measures. Jimmy was also actively involved in contract negotiations with respect to service delivery with various federal and provincial government partners.

Jimmy worked closely with the National Audit and Finance Committee and the Board, as well as with the CEO and various Director Generals in providing strategic advice and guidance. Their areas of focus extended to enterprise risk management, pensions and investment policies. During their time at the Red Cross, they continually pushed for transparency, accountability, ethical behaviour and the responsible management of money entrusted to the organization through the generous donations of Canadians.

Jimmy Mui has an ICD-Rotman from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, a Masters of Accounting from the University of Waterloo, and a BArts from the University of Waterloo. Jimmy also has certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors in the ICD.D designation, from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) in Partners, Directors and Officers, and from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) in Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant.

They work with Joseph Mayer - EVP, Advocacy & Engagement, Luce Lavoie - EVP, Communications, and Jeff Blackmer - Chief Medical Officer & EVP, Global Health. Jimmy Mui reports to Tim Smith, CEO.
