Chris Yen

Chris Yen is a seasoned Technical Safety Engineer at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since September 2018, focusing on process hazard analysis, risk assessments, and various safety management practices. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Process Safety Engineer at PMO Global Services, where Chris facilitated HAZOP studies for notable projects such as Shell’s Carmen Creek and ESSO-Kearl Noda. Previous positions include Process Integrity Specialist at Suncor Energy, Senior Process Engineer at INEOS, and a series of engineering roles at ConocoPhillips and Petro Canada, where Chris contributed to process optimization, project management, and safety protocols across diverse operations. Chris holds an Engineer’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, earned between 1982 and 1986.
