Leon Bakaas

Leon Bakaas is an experienced professional in the field of electrical instrumentation and controls, currently serving as the Manager of Electrical Instrumentation and Controls at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since January 2005. In this role, Leon leads instrumentation, controls, and automation engineering efforts, focusing on facilities SCADA, automation, and control systems engineering. Previous positions include Instrumentation and Controls Specialist at CNRL, where Leon specialized in North American conventional oil and gas systems, and Instrumentation and Controls Lead for Horizon Oil Sands, overseeing automation and control systems engineering. Additional experience includes roles at Imperial Oil, Shell, ATCO Electric, and ATCO Gas, with a strong background in standards development, project management, and technical advisory capacities.
