CFO & SVP, Finance at Canadian Natural

Mark Stainthorpe is the current CFO and SVP of Finance at Canadian Natural. Mark has over 20 years of experience in project quality management, with a focus on structures. Mark has worked on some of the world's largest biomass power station construction projects, ensuring that client/owner quality prerequisites are met. Mark's main roles and responsibilities include monitoring and approving all civil/foundation works related to the boiler structure, signing off on and handing over civil works/piling, initiating material control philosophies and processes, managing material and document control, overseeing survey and verticality controls, managing EOI and RFQ control (PAS 91) leading to allocation of sub-contracts, controlling and managing fabrication/welding, NDT & inspection management, paint/refractory & insulation management and control, and liaison with client/owner/third-party/NoBo as the first point of contact for quality-related matters.

Prior to their current position, Stainthorpe worked as a Senior Quality Consultant for Ramboll Management Consulting. Mark also has experience working in the oil and gas industry.

Mark Stainthorpe completed a BTEC ONC in Fabrication and Welding at Longlands College, followed by a secondary education in Comprehensive Studies at Gillbrook Comprehensive.
