Lucy Ma is a highly engaged professional in aerospace medicine and biomedical engineering, presently serving as Chair of Communications and Advisory Board Member for the Canadian Space Health Research Network and Outreach Coordinator for the Canadian Society for Aerospace Medicine Student & Resident Subgroup. With experience in strategic partnerships at LatchBio and various leadership roles including NASA Space Apps National Coordinator for SEDS Canada and Co-President of NeurotechUofT, Lucy has facilitated numerous educational and mentorship initiatives. Prior engineering experience includes a Project Engineering Intern position at Bombardier, along with roles focused on enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion at the University of Toronto, where Lucy obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering after completing a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honors in Engineering Science. Lucy’s diverse background also includes leading performance initiatives in an A cappella choir during university years.

CSHRNet's mission is to develop and support research and training initiatives in space health by fostering collaboration between researchers and providing trainees with opportunities to advance their careers in the field. To expand and strengthen the collaborative effort of representatives from academia, private industry and government agencies to work together to facilitate scientific discovery and knowledge translation for the benefit of all Canadians. Our vision is to be a collaborative research network for the space health community in Canada, and to generate academic knowledge for the benefit of space exploration and for the health and well-being of all Canadians.
