Rex Lee

Rex is the Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO), at Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) accountable for all aspects of technology including strategy, architecture, development, operations, and cybersecurity across the CTC family of companies.

Rex has been instrumental in the technology transformation at CTC collaborating across the organization and with global technology partners. Since joining in 2012, Rex has played a critical role in digital transformation, instituting Agile operating models, technology modernization, cloud strategy & operations, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and technical platforms for advanced analytics & artificial intelligence.

He has a passion for continuously advancing the value of technology and his approaches have been featured in various publications including the Wall Street Journal, CIO Magazine, and bestselling book Groundswell. He is a member of various advisory boards and is also on the board of directors for Canada's largest national cancer charity, The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and chairs their Digital Committee. With more than 25 years of technology experience, including previous senior technology roles in telecommunications and high-tech industries, Rex has a proven ability to unlock value through technology.

Rex holds an MBA in Marketing and Technology Management from McMaster University, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario. In 2022, Rex was awarded the Private Sector CIO of the Year award on behalf of IT World Canada (ITWC), Canadian CIO and the CIO Association of Canada (CIOCAN) for his critical work leading CTC’s digital transformation.
