Gerard Arguelles

Gerard Arguelles is an experienced maritime professional with a strong background in engineering. Currently serving as Chief Engineer at Canal de Panamá since October 2024, Gerard has held various leadership roles, including Chief Engineer Officer at VT Group from February 2021 to April 2025 and Second Engineer at Euronav from September 2020 to September 2023. Other notable positions include Senior Mechanical Engineer at AES Gener S.A from January 2018 to August 2020 and Third Engineer Officer with Euronav and ahrenkiel shipmanagement gmbh & co. kg. Gerard's career began with hands-on roles as a Cadet de Maquinas at Compañia Maritima de Cabotaje and Interoceanic Supply Services. Gerard earned a degree in Naval Machinery Engineering from the International Maritime University of Panama, completing studies from 2007 to 2010.
