Seán McGowan

Seán McGowan has worked in software development since 2012. Seán began their career at Aimia Inc, where they built the UI for a Loyalty Toolkit and a Call Centre web application. Seán then moved to theprintspace, where they were involved in building the UI layer of an application that allowed users to sell their prints online. In 2014, Seán worked at O2 (Telefónica UK) (Equal Experts) to implement O2's Shop site redesign. After this, they worked at HM Revenue & Customs (Equal Experts) to develop various progressively enhanced tax service applications. In 2016, Seán joined Tesco (Equal Experts) to develop their One Account web applications. In 2020, they worked at ITV (Equal Experts) to implement a redesign and rewrite of the ITV Hub application. In 2021, Seán worked at Complete Mathematics to develop several React applications for authoring, managing and using mathematics learning/quizzing software. Seán is currently working at Lodestar, where they are developing a React application that harnesses the power of computer vision AI to allow subject matter experts to train visual models using a video annotation platform. Seán is also involved in frontend architecture planning with system design diagrams and documentation, and is working closely with the designer to refine details and maintain a consistent design language across the application. Seán will be joining CancerIQ in 2022 as a Software Developer.

Seán McGowan attended Maynooth University from 2002 to 2006, graduating with a 2:1 in Computer Science & Software Engineering.
