Catherine Elliott

Catherine Elliott currently serves as the Director of Research and Partnerships at Cancer Research UK, overseeing funding strategies and developing non-commercial partnerships since August 2021. Concurrently, Catherine has held the position of Honorary Consultant Obstetrician at NHS Lothian since February 2015. Prior roles include College Registrar at the University of Edinburgh's College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine from September 2014 to August 2021, Director and Head of Neuroscience and Mental Health at the Medical Research Council from July 2012 to September 2014, and Head of Clinical Research Support and Ethics at MRC from November 2005 to December 2012. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Medical Claims Handler at The Medical Defence Union and completing Sub-specialist training in Feto-maternal medicine at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Catherine's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The University of Edinburgh, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Medical Law from the University of Glasgow, and an MBChB in Medicine from The University of Edinburgh.
